Who you are buying from

This website is run by Janine Partington, an artist working in vitreous enamel and carved leather in Bristol, United Kingdom. You can reach me at mail@janinepartington.co.uk.

Your order

When you place an order you are making an offer to buy. Your order is accepted when I confirm it by email, and that is the point at which our contract is made.

Occasionally I may not be able to accept an order — for example if a one-off piece has already sold. If that happens I will tell you and refund anything you have paid.

Prices and payment

All prices are in pounds sterling and include any tax due. Prices for made‑to‑order work are shown per size and are confirmed with you before I begin.

Ready‑to‑send pieces are paid for at checkout. Made‑to‑order pieces are invoiced when your work is ready to leave the studio, and payment is due on delivery. Card payments are handled by my payment provider — I never see or store your card details. To confirm: the payment provider to be named here

Made‑to‑order and commissioned work

Made‑to‑order pieces are made specially for you in the size you choose, and commissions are made to your brief. Because they are made to your specification, the usual 14-day right to change your mind does not apply to them under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

That said, I would always rather you were happy: if something is not right, tell me and I will do what I can. I confirm sizes, colours and framing with you before I start work, so there are no surprises.

Handmade work varies

Every piece is made by hand, one at a time. Where a design is part of a collection I can make a version of it for you, but it will never be an exact copy of the photograph you saw — colour, texture and firing marks vary from piece to piece. That variation is the nature of the work, not a fault.

One-off leather panels and other unique pieces cannot be repeated at all.

Delivery

Delivery times, postage charges and overseas orders are set out on my delivery page, which forms part of these terms. Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery.

Changing your mind, and returns

For ready‑to‑send pieces you have 14 days from receiving your order to change your mind, and a further 14 days to return the piece to me. It must come back unused and in its original packaging, and I will refund you once it arrives. To confirm: who pays return postage on a change-of-mind return

If a piece is faulty or not as described, your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 apply in full and I will cover return postage. Please contact me first so we can agree how to send it back safely.

Images and copyright

The designs, photographs and text on this website are mine and are protected by copyright. Buying a piece gives you the piece — it does not transfer copyright, and my work may not be reproduced, printed or used commercially without my written permission.

If something goes wrong

Please email me first — most things are quickly sorted. If we cannot resolve matters, these terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
